Fitzpatrick Honors New Deal with Victory over Redskins

The Bills are now 5-2 after defeating the Redskins in the 10/30/2011 regular season game between the two teams. Fitzpatrick, Jackson, and the defense were the stars of the 23-0 shutout. Fitzpatrick completed 21 of 27 attempts for 262 yards with 2 touchdowns, while Fred Jackson was the offensive star and the recipient of 3 of those completions for a total of 74 yards. In addition to his gains as a receiver, Jackson also added 120 yards through 26 carries, which included a 43 yard run. But all that meant nothing in the end, with the way the defense played, all that was needed to win was a Ryan Lindell field goal. The defense forced 2 interceptions and 1 fumble, and recorded 8 sacks in addition to the turnovers. Beck had defenders in his face all game, and the inexperienced QB clearly became rattled by the Bills defense.

Next week the Bills host the New York Jets and the Bills will look to throw some dirt on the Jets to put them further behind them in the race for the AFC East title. Keep up with this Buffalo Bills blog for all the Bills news regarding their upcoming games and the remainder of the season.
