John Murphy Believes Johnson Will Return; Bills Interested in Vinny Curry?

On WGR 550 Sports Radio, John Murphy stated that he is optimistic that a deal between UFA Stevie Johnson and the Bills will happen. He stated that the Buffalo Bills could possibly pay their star WR as much as $8 million per season. Stevie Johnson emerged as a premier receiver for the Bills two seasons ago when he surprised everyone by finishing the season with 82 receptions and over 1,000 yards. In 2011 he proved that it wasn’t a fluke by having another outstanding season, which included a game where he abused Revis off the line-of-scrimmage to make 8 receptions for 75 yards and score one touchdown. Stevie Johnson isn’t likely to get the Franchise Tag, Bills fans can only hope that it’s due to an imminent deal between Johnson and the Buffalo Bills.

In addition to the Stevie Johnson news, it has been reported that the Bills would really like to draft a true DE early in the 2012 NFL Draft. Several sources close to the Bills are saying that the team is really liking what they see in Marshall standout, Vinny Curry. With no standout DE’s worth reaching for at the 10th overall pick, look for the Bills to try to grab Curry or possibly Nick Perry.
