Following their bye week, the Bills hope to be well rested for their game against the 6-1 Houston Texans today. Usually the bye week allows a team to have an advantage in their game following the bye as a result of the extra time to prepare and for the players to take care of their injuries, but in this game, neither team will have that advantage, the Houston Texans are also coming off of their bye. With both teams well rested and well prepared, there should be no excuse for the Bills defense to play as poorly as we have seen them play in their four losses of this season.
The Texans have one of the most complete teams in the NFL, having an excellent offense and defense, they are a force to be reckoned with. However, for the first time since week one, both C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson should be 100% healthy, and hopefully their health is enough to overcome the stout run defense that the Houston Texans will have on the field in this affair. The Bills have the third best running game, and the Texans have the third best running defense, so something will have to give. For the Bills to have a chance to win this game, I will repeat what I’ve said for the past several games, they need to run the ball and not turn the ball over. Additionally, they will need to contain Foster and not allow him to have his way when running the ball. Forcing a few turnovers won’t hurt either!
